Video Upload Problems

Hi,

Just wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing what I am experiencing right now. The video upload, embed on my site is not working. Is anyone having this problem too? I tried embedding two videos from youtube channel, they but came up blank.

Yes that happened to me.  I can add videos by pasting the yt URL but when I do that the thumbnail doesn't appear on the home page, just a generic YouTube logo screen.

We discussed this in a previous discussion, because of some changes at youtube make sure and check the tab for "use old embed code". That solves the problem.

Hi, Andy. We have some reports of YouTube videos not showing up, so thanks for this report! We're working on a global fix that won't require anyone to work around it. I'll update here when I have more info.

Marshal you can still embed, just make sure and check "use old embed code".

This is not specific to you tube, it happens with vimeo and ustream as well.

When somebody embed a youtube video, in the VIDEO section, The YOUTUBE LOGO is only showing in the thumbnail. Its very boring and not inviting at all to click a video with only a youtube logo thumbnail.

This is because of Youtubes NEW embed system with iframes, You have to Choose "use old embed code" to See any "thumbnails" from the video.

Is this going to be fixed???. A Video section filled with youtube logos isnt that funny =)

At the moment im not that "happy about" approving videos because there is No preview thumbnail.

Two things about the youtube embedding:

1. I didn't think the iframe embed worked at all, yet. (Ning is working on it.) Are you sure there are videos behind the default youtube logo?

2. Once I checked the use old code box, that has stayed as my default every time I've gone back to embed videos; over several separate sessions of searching and a few chosen videos.  (Did not have to re-check the box. And of course the thumbnails show).
