Permalink Reply by ROB BRINKMEYER on January 8, 2011 at 9:43am ANY UPDATE ON THIS I'VE ROTATED THROUGH JUST ABOUT EVERY THEME SEVERAL TIMES ON MY SITE AND
WAS TOLD NEW THINGS WERE ON THE WAY WHEN WENT TO A PAID PLATFORM FOR NING
There is a problem i have encounted regarding the new themes package you have introduced that you cant use the old themes from themeworks orr other sites as the new cactivity stops the theme from working and you only get the shell of the theme.
This is a big problem dont you think guys...as changing your themes was what ning was all about.

We've been left with the same themes for quite some time. A year is almost a like a century in terms of advancements in web technology.
I'm still pulling for more flexibility in the layout editor!
We're still being kept from using some very normal layout schemes.
How about a custom logo option?
That's in so many Wordpress custom templates that I'm really surprised at its absence here.
I hate to keep comparing your service to Wordpress, but it's a very easy example, along with sites like Blogger, and Tumblr, of what CAN be done with an online Software As Service.
Add to this the fact that they are doing it for free and you guys are raising your prices.
I know the "Design a Ning Theme" contest has concluded over at Ning Design network.
Can't we at least have access to the winners designs?
At this point I expect your users might need some convincing to keep using your service.
In terms of the lack of layout options, is it a problem with the back-end code? If so, how long can we expect before it's rewritten with an eye to allow more flexibility?
