We're Turning the Best of the Week Creators Digest into an Every-Other-Week Affair

Just a quick note to let the members of this community know that we're going to make a little change. Don't worry. Not a huge change.

We've been sending out a Best of the Week Digest to every member every week for quite some time now. This has been a great way to keep the community informed about tips from other NCs, announcements from Ning, and whatever else we find that we think you might like to know about. The goal of this has (in part) been to inform those members of our community who don't necessarily come here to post in the forum but who want stay in the loop about what's happening. A lot of people have told us that these kinds of general digests are very useful, so we're thrilled to know that people like it. Heck, when we take it on vacation, someone always says, "Where's the newsletter, bro?" This makes us happy because it shows that it's missed when it's not around!

So, what's changing? We'll still be sending our newsletter out on a regular basis; we're just going to switch it to a twice-monthly thing. We'll aim to send it out the last Friday of every month and the Friday closest to the middle of the month. (If you think there's a better day than Friday, let us know!)

One reason for this change is that we have a bunch of projects we want to work on that we hope will reach more of our customers than we already do. (We're blessed to have a phenomenal open rate with nearly every email we send out because you folks are so invested and committed to hearing from us.) We also send out email newsletters from time to time like Ning Now and Feature Digests (and other one-off email communications); we'd like to devote a bit more time to those because they can reach an under-served population of customers who aren't members of this community.

Another reason is that we simply want to try out a few new things. Like a lot of you, we're always trying to experiment with new ways to reach people. We actually may redesign the newsletter we send out. Maybe we'll come up with a second type of digest that is useful in a completely new way. Who knows until you try, eh? We're open to hearing about other ways you think we can help you be more successful as community managers, so let us know if there's some type of info that you'd like to see on a regular basis that maybe doesn't exist yet — or should. (We have a lot of ideas percolating, and we hope you'll like them.)

Of course, we'll continue to be here on Creators, doing our thing and responding where we can. If you are a committed and vocal member of the forum, the up-shot of this is that you'll see one less email every week — but we hope to balance that out with one extra packed email every other week.

I have really enjoyed the digest. Pretty busy these days so I don't get to spend much time on here as I would like and if it wasn't for the digest I would have probably missed some things worth checking out.

Keep up the good work!

I do look forward to the weekly email but I completely understand trying out new things. Best of luck on all your upcoming endeavors!

I'll miss it on a weekly basis but it might mean more densely packed useful stuff every 2 weeks.

SP

I agree with you, SP.

it's a great newsletter, very useful.

Nice! thank you!

I am okay with it bro.

Ha! Thanks, Ifthica.

Aw, too bad! I look forward to receiving them every week, but I think an every-other week schedule is a very smart move.

I missed the Creators Digest this week :(
