On my profile questions during sign up, I have members check mark a talent or type of business they do so it categorizes them. However it has stopped working now. Now for some reason no one is listed except 2 people. Not sure why or what happened, but it was working fine yesterday?
Any thoughts? And yes I have submitted a support ticket, I kind of am hoping I am not the only one eeek!
Permalink Reply by Amanda Bears on May 24, 2012 at 12:48pm I actually kind of cheated this category thing, they aren't actually in a category at all. Not manually either. I used the advanced search and created a page with it (as the pictures above stated). No one is showing up but my mom,
If you go to my network (mammatropolis.com) you will see something that says BIZ MAMMA, a drop down menu will appear my mom is listed in Crafts, Jewelry, For baby, For Mom, and Health and Nutrition.... This is all through advanced search and I used the URL for it. IF they were only allowed to pick ONE during the profile questions then she wouldn't be listed in everything. We were all listed yesterday and today nothing.
Permalink Reply by Sue Wolff on May 31, 2012 at 2:26pm This is happening to me too. I just created a required multiple choice profile question allowing only one answer. I approved one new member (my dummy self) and it shows the category under their name in the members list. But when I click on the link created under the members, it says there are no members in that category. When I click on this member in the members management list it also shows this member in the default category. the network is cityufaculty. I also do not see where I can edit the category that a member is in...for manually going back through all the old members and doing that.
Hi Sue,
There can be a delay of a few minutes between when someone gets added to a category and when they show up on the listing page, so that might be the problem.
In order to move someone into a new category, just go to Members > Management in the dashboard, put a checkbox next to the member's name, and select the category you want to put them in via the "Select an Action" dropdown.
Thanks,
Phil
