Many have asked for it:
A better rich text editor.
We're happy to announce that we are in the final stages of beta testing for our new revamped rich text editor.
This is only enabled in the Forum here on Creators, but our hope is that you'll like what you see.

Hi Evan, thank you, I'm not very computer conversant but OK, my partner helps me with a lot of that and I get what shift tab means. I use the google tool bar spell check on all the sites I go too.
Quick users expereince of the new txt bar...
can we firstly have an option to go with this, as most members will not find that extensive buttons helpful, more complexity!!!
ICONS - the previous button bar had an awlful representation of a camera, NO ONE KNEW what it was! The times I had to explain what it was and how to use it goes to show... Not a good graphic.
Now look at the new buttons... a picture that you cant make out, and a piece of film that looks like 35mm film
look again, think again - what would be a better use of an ICON to make it easier for members to use..
In my own Network the average age of user is 40 - 55 years old, so in this case a Photo could be represented by a piece of 35mm FILM! So perhaps you could see the confussion straight away.
With yonger audiences - well most will have used a digital camera, or more likely a MOBILE PHONE to take their photos, so further grounds for confussion.
VIDEOS = youtube, = DVD's.... so is a piece of film appropiate as an ICON again, as it can be confussed by the older audience as being a PHOTO
perhaps if you are TESTING this - what about JUST ONE BUTTON, and then in the menu - it askes what you want to load - Photo or Video
possibly a solution?
Thanks for your feedback. I don't think we want a single button for both photos and videos, but we can definitely explore better icons.
Great idea! Wow love it. Much better than the one we have now.
I'm late responding (obviously because I was hanging ou with you guys, lol).
This is fantastic, Eric! I look forward to it being set up on our networks.
Is there anybody out there?
And this is a Vimeo video. Where is the difference? Now have icons but... Really is more atractive now but where is the new features? PD. Sorry for my english
Hi Alfredo, How did you do the fonts, cut and paste?
Hi Cynthi. No i did the fonts using HTML code. Is a way not so good because you must know use html code. For me, this new text box is not good. I think this text editor would be better for use in the email of the network.
Example: You write a text line. Go to html and before the text you write
<p><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS">This text editor would be better.</span></p>
I don't think this is a good idea. With a List Fonts on the menu and another things will be better.
My calification: 3
Have you looked at the text editor that appears when you add a new discussion? It includes the ability to change the size, color and font family. As I've explained earlier in this discussion, the smaller version of the editor that you use to add comments has much less horizontal space available (it can be as narrow at 470 pixels), so we had to limit the number of available options in this version of the text editor.
