Hello co-NCs, our network is planning on launching a magazine that at random talks on what’s happening inside the network and hosting event to them.
So we want to run a kind of survey, asking members to give us their Votes, Ideas, Opinions, Suggestions and points wither to DO IT or NOT.
PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, how can we go about it?

Go to your dashboard and click on Ning Apps and when you get there search for Voxbox, I use it on my network wellkunnected.com...hope this helps!

Well, you sort of answered your own question I think. Posting a discussion question can be very effective.
I think surveys can be useful because you can simplify to multiple choice and that's sometimes less intimidating for people than asking for their thoughts. It's efficient because they make a quick selection and send. Plus there's usually some mass distribution efficiency built in for you to get the survey out. Limiting answers helps refine your results into measurable statistics you can use to justify a decision, and keeps the results on point as opposed to scattered across the board in all kinds of random directions.
However, I personally do not like surveys. I usually feel the wrong questions are being asked, and the wrong options are being offered. It's too impersonal for my taste. If someone wants to know my opinion, then all they need do is show they value it and ask me.
Now you can accomplish the same essential thing in a forum question. Mass distribution can be accomplished in a broadcast message directing to link. You can keep it simple enough by asking the simple yes/no question. However, you can compliment that with the open ended call for feedback as an option. A discussion gives you a bit of a chance to introduce the project in more detail which can be helpful in swaying people toward it, generating some buzz for the release, and serving as a reference to site activity that you can include in your publication.
Hope that helps!
Best,
Anthony
