Happy Veterans Day!
I'm creating this discussion to ask for your expertise/experiences in creating mobile apps for a Ning Community. My Design Firm is about to embark on building our first Mobile App for a Ning Community. I want to make sure we build the app using the best mobile app development tool or service, and that we use a tool/service that's the most cost efficient for development and ongoing-costs .
We're looking at Shoutem's new application builder and Mobile Roadie. We would love to hear about your experiences, what you used to build your mobile app, what your mobile app offers, and your successes.
Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences. I would be extremely grateful for any guidance on this.
Thanks again, and really looking forward to some awesome feedback.
Best Regards,
Jen

Permalink Reply by Viktor on March 15, 2012 at 11:41am Ok you are right. I was looking at non Ning app.
We currently have a problem with that feature so we have disabled it temporarily for Ning apps. Ning API does not return list of all members but just friends of the currently logged in user. In the case of GodSpace those are the friends of the admin.

I notice that there is no groups or forum option and I can only guess that this is because of the API access. What if I use feeds under your Web option?
How would groups, forums and other RSS feeds be handled if added under Web option? Would they need to login to comment? This may be a workaround
Permalink Reply by Viktor on March 15, 2012 at 1:37pm Hi Frankie. We do not support groups because it is not supported on API side. Honestly we haven't played with web view option so far.
PS
Could we please take this to our support page and continue the conversation there. I do not like to spam people on this list and also you'll get your questions answered faster.
Thx

Permalink Reply by Vipster on December 11, 2012 at 4:31pm I am getting slow or no replies from your customer service team lately. Could you please check my last two emails regarding "Beijing" Stuff" event feed and geocoding events.
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on December 11, 2012 at 5:06pm Vipster: Not sure if they can offer that in conjunction with the Ning API.
I will leave it up to Jen to decide, but it sort of seems like this discussion is way off course from where Jen started it in 2011.
Permalink Reply by Viktor on December 11, 2012 at 5:28pm Hi Vipster. I saw your message and I believe my team is working on it. There is a solution to have events geotagged but you will have to follow certain rules on how to enter the address into the Ning backend.
Permalink Reply by Viktor on December 13, 2012 at 5:54pm You were wandering where those answers to your support tickets at weird times are coming from.
Here is what we do. After a whole day in the office answering support tickets we get home, pour ourself a glass of wine and answer more tickets.
That is how much we love our customers :). Cheers and enjoy!
