Permalink Reply by Shawn on February 22, 2011 at 1:51pm It works for me ... go to My Network, Tools, Custom Code ... and paste it at the bottom ...
Your code should look something like this ..
<head>
<meta name="alexaVerifyID" content="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" />
</head>
After I put it there and saved it .. it took like 24-48 hours for it to start working ... I went back to Alexa and said "verify" and it started working ... so give it a few days to kick in ....

Permalink Reply by Speed Racer on February 24, 2011 at 3:38pm so you have to ADD <head> and </head>

<EDIT> just did that.....nothing. how can i upload the text file version to the root directory? i'd really like to get this done, i know it CAN be done, for whatever reason it is not working for me.

Thanks Shawn!

Permalink Reply by TJ @ jQueryHelp on February 24, 2011 at 10:57pm You can use jQuery to add a meta tag to the head of a document (web page). But I doubt Alexa will see if because the jQuery executes after the head has already been processed. Still, if you want to try it, add this to your Custom Code box:
<script type="text/javascript">
x$('head').append('<meta name="alexaVerifyID" content="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" />');
</script>

Permalink Reply by Shawn on March 10, 2011 at 1:54pm I don't know why it's not working for you ..
All I did was copy and paste the code at the "bottom" of my custom code screen. Waiting a day or two and it started working ...
I did the same thing for my Groupon Code .. copy the code and paste it in Custom Code at the bottom of the page and within 2-3 hours it started to work ... I"m stumped
