Where do photos go when a member sends them by mobile phone to the network?

One of my members used their mobile phone and the email given in their profile settings to send some pictures straight to the network.

However, the photos have not shown up on the website and seem to have disappeared into the virtual cloud between mobile phone and website.

Does the member need to do anything special to make them appear? Like confirm the upload or anything?

Thanks

they should go into the member's photos....go to their page, click "photos"
It takes FOREVER sometimes, and by that i mean weeks.
i have never seen that happen on my network, mine are pretty instantaneous. Literally about the time my phone is done sending the pic, I can pull it up in my photos section.....has this happened to you often, PL?
Hey, Possibility! We did have a few glitches with mobile photo uploads, but that was quite some time ago. Have you tried it yourself, too? If you don't see this working properly, we want to know about it. It certainly wouldn't take "weeks" as the P&L team contends.

Hi Eric

Haven't tried it personally yet, but I'll let you know how I get on once I do....

I experience this problem too with my network. In my case, the email never delivers to the address provided by my network.

I have tried uploading with three different user accounts but it never worked.

At a point, I thought it was gmail that had issues with the upload addresses, but even my yahoo and hotmail addresses refuse to deliver the email.
that's a mobile upload feature, meaning from a phone........maybe that's why you are having an issue, I don't know......do you have your own mapped domain? if so, that is likely the problem.

if you look at the mobile uploader address under settings, if it doesn't say your ning address (yoursite.ning.com) it's not going to work. Mine got changed to my url i bought from GoDadddy, and as soon as that change happened and appeared as the mobile upload address, anyone who tried to use it, it did not work for. put this code in your custom code box and it should work fine. replace yoursite in the code with it's proper names.

I know this isnt as desireable as you may like, but, it will prevent a nonworking mobile upload address from showing on member pages. The way I'm understanding it, unless you want to purchase email services from your registrar (Go Daddy charges 2.99 a month PER EMAIL ACCOUNT), this is the only way.

<script type="text/javascript">if (typeof(x$) != 'undefined') {var oldHref = x$('#xg_profiles_settings_email_show').attr('href');if (oldHref) {var oldValue = x$('#xg_profiles_settings_email_show').html();var newValue = oldValue.replace('yoursite.com','yoursite.ning.com');x$('#xg_profiles_settings_email_show').html(newValue);var newHref = oldHref.replace('yoursite.com','yoursite.ning.com');x$('#xg_profiles_settings_email_show').attr('href',newHref);}}</script>

Thanks a lot. I'll give this a try and give feedback.

Hi SpeedRacer,

I used your script above to get the ning.com url to show instead of our mapped domain but it still shows our mapped domain on this page - http://www.kitesports.co.za/photo/photo/newWithUploader. By modifying your script is it possible to substitute the mapped domain with the ning domain here too?

Regards,
Bruce
