Why can't I feature a Group with Paid Access?

Unless i'm missing something obvious, I can't seem to feature a group that has paid access. This can't be right?

Hey, SweetPotato. Do you not see the option to feature this group? It's a public group, right? Here's what I see on a paid group: 

Seems to show up on my Main Page as a "Featured" group.

hi Eric, it's private because I thought peope could read forum posts if it was public, thus rendering the paid access bit redundant.
have I got that wrong?

Okay, got it. Well, you can't feature a private group -- just like you can't feature a member with a private profile. So, I think that is the answer. You won't even see the option to feature a private group. For example, this is from a private group:
