I need to place code in the <head> for my new mobile site and support is telling me this is not posisble. WHYYYY?

I am trying to install scripts from two leading web testing and analytics tool - clicktale.com and visualwebsiteoptimizer.com, and neither work because the code can't be added to the head section of the page code.
