I plan on using it to make a Premium Member Group with special offers for area businesses, discounts on website swag, early news before everyone else gets it and more. MySaline.com

Following a global trend of paying member of my activities. To enter the network pays an X and for each member invited by the new pay-for paying for half of X.

We are a private dog social site and we will use money collected for our foster dog, who we sponsor monthly through the North Shore Animal League. He has very high medical bills. We also support 3-4 different shelters and dog charities each year.

In addition we have an annual meetup once a year in a different city for4 days. Of course some of our members can not afford to travel with their dog for a 4 day vacation, so we are planning to have a drawing for one member each year and they will win a paid trip to our annual meetup.

i have 2 uses already implemented considering 1 more

  1. donation to join i set a suggested donation of $2.95 to join for a  3 month subscription new joins i expect a low rate of donations since they are just now learning the value of the site. existing members were comped a month and i expect way more to donate. i left it a sliding scale leaving every option from 0.00 to 1,999.95 i received a dozen or so 2.95 (suggested) 2 1 dollars 3 or 4 4-5.95 and even 1 19.95 all from new joins
  2. i set up a paid access "supporters" group at 35.95 a month (i think i'd have to double check) added a link and details to my advertise with us page. upon joining they will be made group admins (untill ning offers a better solution) so they can create pages. these pages will be full page ads, that can be seo optimized and targeted to specific keywords and or products. they can create unlimmited variations esentialy a whole site devoted to theyre ads taking advantage of our sites popularity to get quicker indexing and higher ranking potential. the group would double as a btb networking  site using comments and forum discussions to allow sales announcements etc (provided they dont flood the activity feed too much)
  3. we may at some point add a paid training class type thing.

the funds raised will go towards further eseo to acheive top ranking and grow the site even more

as well as towards further improvig and expanding beyond the ning platform.

We can sell our own ads with paid access, making a group for ads, and when a member join at that group he will be charged already, can be for one month, six or one year, he decides :), and the ads can be link or banner ads(banner ads should be more expensive :D).

The creators put the ads in the network and that would be it!.

I want to try this some day!, lol.

Hiya!

In a nutshell I plan to set up an information site for Chefs/Personal Chefs that will attempt to break the stranglehold that recruitment agencies now have on the Industry.

I want to charge those who have jobs available a fraction of what they would pay to an agency and at the same time charge the jobseekers the same small amount in order to demonstrate their sincerity.

Don't want to give too much away but happy to go through details in private...

Thanks.

Just asking for donations, and running a few ads...

I have a private Group: "VIP Club for Jen's Premium Ning Tips", where I offer special Ning Tips and Ning Support. The Group has been a smashing success, in more ways than one. Most importantly, it's a lot of fun! It's a very active group, and almost it's own little Social Community. The members are awesome - - they're top-notch professionals serious about their Networks. They're gracious, and kind, and helpful. They don't just ask questions, they help me answer questions. I never expected that icing on the cake. This is by far my favorite Social Networking experience of all times.

Currently I use a PayPal button for the yearly membership subscription. I can't wait to get started with the Paid Access plan. My dilemma is finding the time to work with Ning (hopefully), and figuring out the best process for migrating the existing 160+ members to the Paid Access module. Truly, I can't wait!

Good luck to everyone out there who takes advantage of the Paid Access module!

Jen

Been waiting for Paid Access for long time.

We are a User Group (The SPICE User Group) www.spiceusergroup.org which supports the development and takeup of an international standard. The SPICE User Group cannot collect fees by physical means as its members are scattered virtually across 50 countries of the world. We would use fees for special pages which would provide free additional guidelines. We need to charge as minimal fee as possible as some members are in low cost countries and US10 is a lot of money.

I started using paid access to

  • help to pay the bills
  • and to be able to put better apps on the site (good free ones are getting harder to find).

Members have 3 options:

  • 1 month subscription for $1
  • 1 year subscription for $9.96
  • Lifetime Membership for $19.95

  • I comped all existing members for 2 months.
  • I am giving new members a free month to try our the site.  I am still using new member moderation, so when I approve them, I immediately comp them a month and send them a welcome message telling them that we have paid membership and that I have given them a free month to try us out.

 This will

  • eliminate the need to refund money
  • prevent new members from turning around and going the other way when they see the paywall

To encourage people to invite their friends, I am offering them a free month for them and the friend that they invite when the friend joins. If they have already purchased a lifetime membership, they can give their free month to a friend.

We plan on the possibility of charging for an "Access All Areas" add on that will give access to an extensive archive of over 150 (increasing each week they run for) of support call recording downloads. These have been collected over time and are each a one off and varied with some top class coaches and trainers participating worldwide. The idea we have is to be on the calls live ( and forum of course ) will continue to be free, but access to the existing archive backlog will be paid for.

Thats the basis of the idea so far - fingers crossed!

I have a group converted into a market

I gave a read access to everyone by setting the group as public and paid access for those that want to post by putting the group after a paywall

so sellers pay to join the group  (to open selling topics)

and buyers can then see the selling topics without having to join the group (and pay) and if interested in the items being sold will contact the seller

since sellers are earning some money they dont mind paying the fee
