Hello,

I administer a NING network where we use the "advertising" division for custom content to navigate our users. Well, everything worked just fine until I made a template for our client to fill in so she can edit the texts and images herself.

The problem is every time you input the code I provided into the editor in IE8 it gets messed up. I tried saving both from the HTML view and from the WYSIWYG view. You can see the results in attached screenshots.

I also attached input, outputs from source code and various .diff files where I compared the right output with messy outputs from IE8 and with input code.

There are few solutions:

  1. Do not use IE8. Not possible, IT department of our client supports just IE8 and nothing else.
  2. Hack the input so it will show just fine even when interpreted in IE8. Any suggestions?
  3. Wait for an update of the WYSIWYG editor. This would be great. But how long would that take?
  4. Allow us to edit HTML directly without any editor messing up our code. <--- my preferred option...
