I was browsing the forum here on NC yesterday looking for a solution to my problem & came across this post in the forum which addressed exactly what I was looking for... but also raised some concerns and questions...

The problem is, In January 2011, the CEO of NING went on-record with kopper to advise: "...[ability to move posts] will come as part of an overall redesign for Groups which is something you and others have been asking about for quite some time."  We got the Groups redesign (adding pages, etc.), but we didn't get this basic functionality...

For example, if a member posts a discussion in the wrong group, or if you wanted to streamline your groups without bothering the member to copy & repost... or worse still loose content... as within the Forum, NC's may move discussions to the appropriate category, NC's should have the ability to move discussions within the group section also... at least move a discussion from a groups category into a forum category...

If you read Kopper's original post on this you will see that he first made this request in 2009.  Its now January 2012.  I cannot stress what a deal-breaker this may become for my NING network; I for one really need to change how my network functions but I can't make the changes we need to without loosing content...

Ning Developers ...please help to push this up on the "to-do- list!

I believe I can find a programmer who can make a code module to achieve this... I cannot give you a price right now, but it would be very easy to post the job on GAF and see how many programmers bid on the job. I have used programmers from this site many times before for similar jobs and am very confident it could be done relatively cheaply. In addition, once the program is developed, it could be sold to other networks...

I'm actually wondering how much of a priority this kind of things is to other creators & whether we can convince ning to push this up the to do list...  thanks for the info tho...

I desperately need the exact same thing, but we shouldn't have to pay programmers for this. It should be a basic.
