Looking for a Ning Creator to design & integrate Ning into my Travel Portal

Hi,

I am in the process of completing a PHP portal for my www.liveaboards.com business.

 

My business involves advertising "Liveaboard" trips for divers, surfers and cruising travellers wanting to holiday on a Liveaboard boat. 

 

Liveaboard trips usually have a duration of 3 - 10 days. The traveller eats, sleeps and participates in diving / surfing activities from the boat.

 

Liveaboard boat operators offer mainly diving trips, however, increasingly surf trips are also being offered. Some Liveaboard Operators offer a mixture of Dive, Surf and Cruise trips to suite the seasonality / weather conditions in a particular location.

 

The site will target international Liveaboard operators and international travellers.

 

The common denominator of the business is the Liveaboard boat and the location it operates from (country).

 

I would like to integrate social media into the site and have the following requirements for the the Ning application: 

 

-1- It needs to cater for the 3 discrete Groups of travellers: (surfers, divers and Cruisers). As these Groups are very different in terms of the activities they are seeking, communication, blogs, images, videos, etc are required to be partitioned from each other.

 

-2- I would like to keep it simple and focus on 2 main areas for the Ning Application:

* Provide an area where past travellers and potential new travellers can interact with each other  and discuss what to expect on the trip / facilities of the boat / locations of a trip itinerary quality of the food / service provided by the crew - basically an area where a potential traveller can research past traveller reviews; ask questions etc

 

* the second area I would like to focus on is providing those travellers who have booked a trip on a particular Liveaboard with a forum to introduce themselves to fellow travellers before the trip departs (Departure Lounge / Flight Deck) area.

 

-3- Travellers should be able to upload their videos, photographs and journals while on the trip (or after it) and have these displayed in their Group (Dive or Surf or Cruise).

 

I am unsure if it is possible to utilize the OpenID / Janrain fuctionality we use in our www.liveaboards.com portal for travellers to sign-in to both the portal AND Ning, but this would be desirable.

 

The main objective, is to ensure the surf traveller using www.liveaboards.com as the site for booking Surfing trips, view the Ning integration as an extension of the Surfing site and not a mish-mash of Surfing, Diving and Cruise trip social information. Using cookies on our www.liveaboards.com site, we remember the travellers interest and customise the page when the traveller returns to the portal using Surfing Vinyls etc

 

Anyhow, hopefully the above has provided background on the liveaboard industry and some direction on what I am wanting to achieve.

I am using NING for years and i have created several NING projects for other companies too.

Thanks for contacting me Richard. I have been advised to obtain 3 Ning PLUS accounts and use the type of trip selection made by the traveller e.g.  Surf or Dive or Cruise on the landing page of my portal www.liveaboards.com to call into the respective NING application.
