I’ve installed Kontera – an in text advertising solution – on The Diabetes Challenge (http://thediabeteschallenge.ning.com) .  Based on the instructions of the company (NING is not mentioned as an option) I’ve installed the code under the ‘Analysis’ tab (the code needs to appear in the bottom section of each page).  However, this code seems to slow down loading and operation of the site and at time gives an error message (Windows Internet Explorer Not Responding) .

Does anyone know a better way to install Kontera ?

Thanks for your help!

Peter

I find that the Analysis tab is the best place for it but it will work much the same if you just add the code into an ordinary text box. My site hasn't slowed down due to it. As long as it's not in the of your page, it should be ok.
Why would l have trouble creating a account there. Everything goes great until l type in the letters and it keeps saying l am not entering the right letter codes. What am l doing wrong?
mmmmmm, good question. I wonder if they are having problems with their sign up atm. My only suggestion is to probably try again tomorrow. I've only ever signed up once but I didn't have an issue. I can't remember if the captcha code was case sensitive but if ever in doubt, try every way possible. I hate those captcha codes anyway. People make those images so hard to read when all they need is an image with good, clear writing on it. I've never heard of a bot being able to read the writing on any image.
The code was clear. l did it right but would not take it. And do a person have to have their own Domain to use this?
I guess they are having problems then. I have just emailed them letting them know of the problem. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

No, you don't need your own domain. It will work anywhere that Google Adsense will work.

I use it on Ning, Wackwall and my own domain

With Ning I just add the code into the Analysis box but it will work from any text box.
Thank you, l am sorry for being a pest. But l am not too computer smart. Shhhh, do not let no one know. lol
lol, that's perfectly ok. I'LL TELL NO ONE oh whoops, probably shouldn't shout it..hehe
Thanks for the update. It may be my computer - on an other computer the system runs as fast as usual...

Hope we can use this as just another income stream.

Yep, the more income streams the better. So far it's worked for me and even though the clicks from Kontera don't quite pay as much as the Google, I make quite a bit more money from Kontera as the ads are obscured and look pretty cool when they pop up.

I think people tend to click on them more just to see what they are.

Have you tried Bidvertiser yet? It works and looks exactly like Google and pays about the same. You can also use their ads in conjunction to Google and Kontera. Mind you though, it's not a good look having a page full of ads..lol
Thanks! I don't know Bidvertisre yet, but will investigate and try to install.

I've signed up with WIN Wellness Iinternational via Vitaelin Nutraceuticals (http://vitaelinhealthcenter.com). This is a traditional network sales company. But by simply adding the advertisments/buttons to the ning site, I now generate a couple of 100s every month. If you want to know more - and find out how to do this, please contact me at info@sunvalleycommunication.com

I'll give it a go but....$60 a month? How many clicks do you usually accumulate for that? Kontera doesn't pay much per click but it's easy to implement and I find I get way more clicks through it than Google.
