New Release July 2nd: Groups + Events

We're rapidly moving to finish up the mobile beta. We hope those of you who have been part of the beta group will be happy about the latest additions: Groups + Events.

Groups: You can now add Groups to your mobile version. Your groups will show comments, discussions that are happening in the group, and a list of members in each group. Your members will be able to join groups while using this mobile version and accept invitations to groups, too.

Events: If you use the Events feature, you can turn it on now. The events will show event details, comments, and an attendee list. One caveat: We haven't yet added the option for members to RSVP to an event. If that's a deal-breaker in your beta experience, you can simply choose to leave out the Events module until we've added RSVP capabilities.

Off by default; turn it on! If you've already turned on the mobile beta, you'll need to head to the Mobile section on your dashboard and add Events and Groups pages if you'd like those to be available to your members.

On event is it possible to add events through mobile version.

No event creation on mobile. Not sure if that will happen.

It's important to add the ability to create events from mobile version. As many networks are powered by events.

Don't think people who want to create events will do that on a mobile phone !
They will create events on desktop... I think it will be much easier.

Groups are good. I'm a little let down by events. The date is not clear next to each event and it's usually the most important detail of an event. Could we do something like WP touch with event dates on the left?

Also, can we choose the option to only show Featured events?

Ditto on the date - I'd like that to show - even more important than the event description in my book. Time and location would be good, too, but not as critical as date!
