Hi All,
Just a note to let you know that today we introduced some updates to the way Events work on Mobile. We've added the ability for your members to RSVP via the mobile interface and respond to invitations. And based on your feedback, we've changed the way the Events list is displayed so that events are now grouped by date. We've included the event start time and location in the listing as well.
We've also made these improvements:
Take a look and let us know what you think. We're continuing to polish mobile up prior to a general release.

Loving Ning these days

Hi SP,
I think the blue we used there matches the link color, so it's not completely out of the blue ;-) but I take your point and we'll look at that a bit more. Appreciate the feedback!
Permalink Reply by Sean Herman on July 11, 2012 at 1:30pm Colors are close to my personal site design, but capabilities of custom appearance on mobile version will be great in integrating it to match the colors of our own site and thus appear more fluent. I would like to be able to edit the text color, banners, and the background color.

Permalink Reply by Sean Herman on July 11, 2012 at 1:25pm I am impressed with the recent improvements made for Ning mobile, and I have notified my network of these updates recently.
The events list looks good. I just wish we could add new events and update then via mobile. Some may disagree, but I feel this will be an important feature. Sure, we can do this at home (through our desktops), but mobile networking is becoming more and more popular and so I don't think this should be anything less than it can be. It will likely become quite popular among users. We have most other features available to us via mobile version. Why stop there?
Hi Sean,
We've left event creation out for now, since the many required fields would be pretty cumbersome to complete on a phone, but we will continue iterating on mobile to include things like event creation moving forward. I agree that it will become much more important for many networks to be highly mobile-capable.
Thanks,
Phil

Permalink Reply by Ceddy J on July 11, 2012 at 3:39pm I have an idea, to cut down on the details for creation, set it up like you guys did the quick add option in the activity feed. That way at least some of the basics are there and if people want to do the whole fill out they go to the desktop. It's kind of how you guys made blogs, forums, and photos basic. I think people will be happy with that! Still go NEW INVITATION SYSTEM (wasn't even talking about mobile on that one was referring to the Facebook/Twitter invite system, but can we invite people from the mobile app). Followed by AD Placement!
I know the video part would be tough, heck look at other major platforms, they don't have a way to upload videos by mobile, so I'm not expecting it. Solution: Use you rss feed for videos to create a page for them and make sure you put opens links.
Permalink Reply by Sean Herman on July 11, 2012 at 3:46pm You know, I do love how simple and easy it is to do this for status updates, discussions, etc. great idea. I think that would probably work quite well, just getting the basic info such as title, time, date, and location of events.
