New Release: 22 May

Hi NCs,

A few hours ago we added these updates to the Mobile Alpha:

the ability for more phones to upload photos directly. This should now be working for Android 2.2+ and Blackberry.
the ability to delete pieces of content (blogs, photos etc) using the Trash Can icon in the action bar.
the ability for members to Friend one another on profile pages.
forum detail pages (finally!)

It works on the iPad now. The iPad does not support Flash. We can't change that for iPad users. That's something Apple chooses to not support.

ning workds great on ipad ipad doesnt work with flash

so flash elements like the musicplayer the video player the slideshow will never work on ipad tikl ipad works with flash

On Linked In and Facebook, if you switch to desktop view, the site defaults back to mobile view on your next visit. On Ning, you need to type /m to get back to the mobile version on your next visit. Can we have this work more like LI / FB?

my guess is since its still alpha that wasnt enabled to prevent it from reverting when things arent working right

but the site should have a script that auto detects a mobile device and offers to revert to mobile site if a desktop virew page is loaded

I'd like it to automatically default back like most social networking websites rather than offer an option. The "Desktop View" link is right on the navigation menu to give you the option to go back to that view.

There is a link at the bottom of the page (assuming that page has a mobile equivalent) to take you back to the mobile view; but thanks for this feedback and we'll consider this.

so far so good and getting great feedback just 2 questions bout future releases will there be an option for a mobile ad box to monitize mobile pages and i noticed urls like m/discussion?id=35678&topicid=345678

will those in a future release be rewritten through rewrite rules to more seo friendly urls?

Hi soaringeagle,

We're working on an ad solution atm. We might make the urls prettier, but it's a lower priority for us than some of the other things on our plate.

We need to have "SOCIAL SHATE BUTTONS" to forum and photos like facebook and twitter

So ppl can share stuff too thats important and i think.its easy to do that

Further to this post I am also experiencing the following on my Blackberry Bold 9780:

still no way to move from one photo to the next without going back to grid view first.
unable to see entire web page - page is cut off on right side (see screenshots) and trying to scroll to the right with the trackpad to see the cut off section doesn't work.
