With the seemingly endless amount of mobile devices out there, getting the new mobile interface to look consistent must be a challenge to say the least. As a way to aid the Ning developers, I thought it would be beneficial to create a discussion where members can upload screenshots from their devices.

For organization purposes, please use the following format to post in this discussion.

How to take a screenshot?

iPhone (or other iDevice) has a built-in shortcut for saving screenshots to your camera roll. All you have to do is hold down the lock button and the home button at the same time for about one second and your screen will flash white. This is to signify a screenshot has been taken. Now you can head on over to your Camera Roll and view the screenshot.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich includes a built-in and easy way to take screenshots on smartphones (finally). To take screens all you have to do is press the Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time and hold. Once captured, the screen will then shrink into a little frame before whisking away. A notification in the top bar will indicate that the screenshot has been saved.

For other devices, I suggest simply doing a search: "how do I take a screenshot with your device name here".

Seems to work well. Tested on Android phone, and iPad2 in Safari. Since I don't have an iPhone, my iPad is my iPhone tester.

Was also playing around with embedding a HTML 5 widget (advine). I took it down after testing various versions. Good news is, the widget appeared but the button and form items inside the widget didn't appear. In the screenshot version a text input box is visible, but the button element below it is not.

I use these widgets a lot on our desktop version using flash embed. There is an option for HTML embed. That is what I was testing for the mobile version.

Only images and text would appear. I'm hoping this is due to early stages. There is much potential with the HTML page creation.

The concept here is a mobile only accessible sweepstakes entry form.

Hi Mark,

We've found that the html pages are finicky on mobile browsers in terms of rendering if the html is broken in any way. Can you message me with the widget code so that we can check it out?

I messaged you the widget code Phil. Here is the latest result. It's looking better and email input seems to be working! You can see on this screenshot that there is some white space padding now appearing. This is a recent result. I also notice that the shadow function on the text does not appear.
