How can I be included for early access? 

Fill out our form here. We’ll be accepting as many early adopters as we can who are ready get started on June 30th. The first 20 we choose will receive the first month free. We’ll release this add-on to everyone mid-July, but we wanted to get it out to those of you who can’t wait to get started. 

How it works 

Is Paid Access available for all networks? 

Yes. All networks — Mini, Plus, and Pro — can purchase this add-on. 

What options will I have to charge members to access my site? 

• Paid Membership: Collect membership dues

• Paid Groups: Create a space for members to access paid-only 

• Paid Content: Set up destination pages for members to access paid-only content

• Create as many combinations of these paywalls as you like. 

How much does Paid Access cost me? 

The Paid Access add-on is available for $19.95/month. Additionally, there is a service charge per transaction (2.9% in North America) to cover transaction costs. (Note: This service charge drops as the volume of charges increases, allowing us to pass savings on to you.) 

How you get paid 

How will my members pay me? 

Your members can pay with their Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover cards. They can also pay with a PayPal account.

How long will it take me to get paid? 

You get paid via your PayPal account as soon as your members pay. You will see each member's name and the amount they paid within your PayPal account.

What will show up on my members’ credit card statements? 

Your site name will show up along with the amount they paid on your member’s billing statements. Ning will not appear anywhere on member billing statements or during your members’ purchase flow. Paid Access was designed to give you total control over your brand.

Do I need to have my own PayPal account? 

Yes! In fact, you need a verified PayPal account to activate Paid Access. If you already have a verified PayPal account, you’re ready to receive payments for Paid Access. If you don't have a verified PayPal account (or have no PayPal account at all), you'll need to create a new PayPal account and connect it to your bank account to ensure that you get paid. It may take up to 48 hours to become verified if you aren’t already, but the process is simple and easy to complete. 

Can I ask for donations instead? 

Yes! You can even set a range of “suggested donations” if you think that will be a more effective way to charge your members. 

What members see

What will new members see when they join? 

When a new member tries to access your site or any area you’ve set aside as paid-only, they’ll see a message asking them to pay or donate, with the pricing you’ve set. You write this message, and we’ll give you a suggestion as a starting point.

Can I grandfather in old members or comp members? 

Yes! This is something you’ll need to decide how to approach. If you prefer, you can allow existing members free entry and simply ask new members to pay. It’s entirely up to you how you decide who should pay and who should be comped.

Will my paid memberships auto-renew? 

No. For now, your members will need to opt-in to a new membership plan when their plan expires. When this happens, they will be automatically prompted to renew their membership. We plan to add an auto-renew feature in an upcoming version of Paid Access that will make this process more seamless and add additional configuration options.
