"I agree why would members want to pay if there are so many free sites to join. The ning MGNT Charging the creators is not such a great idea unless the creator has build a big enough site to make money from. If you take away features for the members…"

I do not think that the new fee's are going to go over well enough to keep members on the ning network. Ning creators want to know that their network is going to grow and if you have a Ning Network that is by invitation only, it takes a while for it to grow. Ning creators are going to cancel their membership if they have to pay fee's to keep a slow or ungrowing network. The Ning MGMT should allow for the network to establish at least 10,000 members brfore charging a free. Other networks have hundreds of thousands of members on theirs. So many Ning site creators will cancel their account over these fees. In fact I has at least 20 people who were going to try and be a Ning creator but are going else where to do it because of the fees.
