"Your limit of 2 moderators on the gateway plan is overly restrictive. The one place in my work that I see left for using Ning networks is for professional association organizations. I won't be doing those anymore unless I know I can have a…"

"Confirms my decision earlier this month, for my business networks, to go to a software solution that is open source, white-label, secure, and where I could host my networks myself. I'll probably still use Ning for the occasional professional…"

Jeff Bean replied to Jeff Bean's discussion 'SSL Digital Certificate for Ning Network?'
"Yep, it's pretty slick. I don't plan on doing any mods myself. Mainly because it wasn't a great use of my time to do that here on Ning, figuring out what CSS/HTML needed to be squeezed into the two boxes we have available to make…"

Jeff Bean replied to Jeff Bean's discussion 'SSL Digital Certificate for Ning Network?'
"BTW, I'm moving my networks to another social network platform, SocialEngine. It's proprietary, but open source, and has a robust developers community it supports. SSL/HTTPS is drop-dead easy because I have it hosted myself."

"You can't use SSL for your own domain that is hosted on Ning. If you are using a yournetwork.ning.com domain you can use their SSL because their cert is for *.ning.com. That being said, SSL won't prevent spammers from spoofing your email…"

Elshara Silverheart replied to Jeff Bean's discussion 'SSL Digital Certificate for Ning Network?'
"If Ning took member privacy seriously, they would implement SSL for sure. Having said that, you could always try redirecting a domain within a domain and see if that works out. Or simply add a sub domain within your domain and have your network be…"
