Phil McCluskey replied to Devin's discussion 'Introducing Ning Publisher for WordPress'
"Hi Martin, This plugin is geared more towards the NC or a group of admins being able to replicate posts across to the network rather than as a tool for network members to use. It requires API credentials that you probably don't want to give our…"

Martin Sutton replied to Devin's discussion 'Introducing Ning Publisher for WordPress'
"Hi Eric Thanks for the reply. My understanding of this plug in is that to integrate, it requires the ning api codes and network passwords etc. Have I misunderstood? What would the procedure be for a member? (I don't have a WP or other blog at…"

"Hi Phil, Ha...now I get it! There would have to be over 10,000 blog posts before I got charged. That ain't likely to happen. Thank you."

Phil McCluskey replied to Devin's discussion 'Introducing Ning Publisher for WordPress'
"Hi Steve, The API is only used to publish, by the author. It's not invoked for page views (which would presumably be spread across your Ning network, since a copy of the post will be published there)."

Steve Cyrkin replied to Devin's discussion 'Introducing Ning Publisher for WordPress'
"Hi Eric, Our WP blog gets more traffic than our Ning site, so we'll probably owe you a lot of money every month if you start charging. Cutting it off after 10,000 requests isn't feasible for us. I'll just RSS our WP blogs, thanks."

Phil McCluskey replied to Devin's discussion 'Introducing Ning Publisher for WordPress'
"Hi Steve, There will always be a free allocation monthly component for API usage. I can't say that we won't ever charge for API usage above the free allocation; I'm simply pointing out that we haven't done that yet in the…"

Steve Cyrkin replied to Devin's discussion 'Introducing Ning Publisher for WordPress'
"Hi Phil, Thanks for your quick reply. So we can assume the API will always be free, period, or do you mean it will always be free for up to 10,000 requests? If I start putting our WP blogs on Ning I'll owe you hundreds of dollars a month at the…"

Phil McCluskey replied to Devin's discussion 'Introducing Ning Publisher for WordPress'
"Hi Steve, There will always be a free usage allocation for the API, and the API has been free since it was launched in 2010. Last year for example, that message said that the API was free for 2011. Thanks,Phil"

Steve Cyrkin replied to Devin's discussion 'Introducing Ning Publisher for WordPress'
"Eric, It says the API key is free for 2012, instead of being charged by the number of requests. That means starting in 2013 we'll be charged for using Ning Publisher, is that right?"
