Acquisition Update

We’re happy to report that we have a bit more information we can now share publicly with you.  While Cyndx LLC took over Ning operations last week, they were ultimately outbid by another company, which has entered into an agreement with Mode Media to acquire Ning.  We can’t yet share the name of this company with you but will make an official announcement tomorrow with more information.

In the meantime, our team is keeping their heads down working to resolve accessibility issues, squash new and outstanding bugs, and answer your tickets and calls.  We’ve started tracking some of the more visible bugs (and their fixes) on our new Known & Recent Resolved Issues page.  You can also find this page listed nestled under the top-level News tab from any page on our Creators Network.

We also know that October 1st is fast approaching, and you have questions about the stated price increase.  Please stay tuned, as we’ll provide an update on that, as well, in tomorrow’s announcement.

        • Yes, it's a shame we have to go to facebook to get a response from ning when they should be keeping us updated here and responding to our requests for some kind of an answer.

          • Yeh I have a big bone to pick with this.. NING should be here in creators with all this.. I for one do not or care to have a Facebook to go chasing them down.. may just get my gas jug back out and start another fire soon :)

            • Ok some are going to argue because they have Facebook and will slide right over ask questions.. some seem to be missing the principle point here. we pay for NING support on NING platform.. I seen many times that many are only getting help through NING on a free platform FB.. allot easier then they are here.. Creators only have so many answers for other creators when we all have our arms up in the air about whats going on.. but someone like me who doesn't care for Fb would expect they give their attention here in creators.. if only temporary dealing with questions on change and updates more then once every 2 weeks.. jus sayin..

  • Mantive quatro redes na Plataforma Ning, desde 2010. Em razão do aumento, manifestei o desejo de permanecer ativa somente uma delas, ainda que o aumento seja amargo. Mas, há dois dias, não consigo DE FORMA ALGUMA acessá-la. Às vezes, consigo visualizar a página principal, mas não me permitem ingresso. Outras vezes, nem mesmo a primeira página da rede é visível, aparecendo-me na tela a mensagem: "500: Unexpected Error". Os membros, também, não conseguem acesso e esse problema se repete há alguns meses. No entanto, nunca me foram descontadas do valor da mensalidade as falhas recorrentes da Plataforma Ning.

    A situação é insustentável, agravada pelo fato de que nossas reivindicações não recebem respostas. Os responsáveis pela Plataforma Ning simplesmente ignoram nossos problemas, provocados pela inconsistência do sistema.

    Seria o caso de reunirmos um número considerável de criadores de redes, para ingressarmos na Justiça, em ação conjunta, para resgatarmos nossos direitos.

    That is exactly what I am afraid of.  This experience is seeming VERY familiar, as though we are working with the same crew that we had a month ago, a year ago!

  • Mayb Cydx backed out of the purchase and nobody purchased Ning from the now defunct Mode ?? Is ning just drifting at sea now with skeleton crew? Why wont they tell us anything ?

    SOOOOO...???  What company purchased Ning ,? Why are we not being told? why no communication.

    Hi Jan, I have tried several times since I last emailed but haven't been able to get the site to load, a couple of times it has partially loaded to the wall paper stage but then timed out. It's sort of become a 'lost cause'. Very frustrating.
