Today we're pleased to release a set of improvements to the Activity Feed feature on Ning 3.0 networks.
The updated Activity Feed allows members to view older items in the feed, and to view new items that have appeared since they loaded the page.
We've expanded the capabilities of Social Feeds so that you can have items automatically added to the Activity Feed via RSS and Twitter.
We've added a status feature, so that your members can leave status updates in the feed, and we've added link parsing for status updates, so that if a member adds a link, for example, to YouTube, the video is embedded and playable directly in the feed. Link parsing and embedding works with a wide variety of sites, including: YouTube, Dailymotion, Vine, Flickr video, Twitter, Soundcloud and Bandcamp. We'll also provide a preview of content for any link to a site that supports the OpenGraph standard.
With this release, members can also comment on status updates and individual photos directly in the feed.
In order to see and activate the new options that are available for the Activity Feed, head to the Activity Feed Settings page in the Social Site Manager.

I echo Fred's comment about the lack of any new features in months. Is Ning completely in Maintenance mode?
Meanwhile, the Ning Facebook page latest post is still announcing their Christmas holiday schedule...guess they are still in vacationland...
Did Ning go belly up while I was taking a break to raise my family?
Ning is not exposing it's belly to anyone. We are all left in the dark for the past nine months or so. Nothing has happened in all that time.
I'm shocked. I expected to stop in and find out I was way behind. Have the site staff been responding to anything here?
No AnGella, only once in a great while... to delete a member who talks about filing consumer complaints, and delete threads they don't like. It seems they read here sporatically, but won't post or give any information anymore. Nothing of substance on the Ning FB page either, just recycled fluff posts.
Glad I still have my Wordpress site! Pretty sure Wordpress isn't going anywhere.
Just archived my site again, the site goes down every week and one of these times it will be the last. I suspect that if we could search the job boards by "ning" a lot of resumes would come up... Jamrrom is my next stop...

Yeah I just had another 500 error on my 2.0 an hour ago. But it seems erratic and was gone when i tried again.
