Servers maintenance

Hi there!

As I have promised in the previous announcement there would be scheduled maintenance due to server renovation.

We are planning to start on Thursday 14-th of September 7 am UTC and the works would last for 2 hours. Please note that networks won't be accessible at that period of time.

          • providing a link is impossible. When it happens, I've instructed my members to refresh the page, because most often it HAS posted and the error code goes away. It's this "dreaded pink error code" image ... it is on my blogsite, not here. It tries to post a comment and hangs OR it gives this "flag", and then if you refresh the page it shows as being posted. But it's really annoying. And providing a link is not possible, as the blog is constantly moving - it's not a static page.

            I'm having other issues - in particular the SPAM flagging but I'll save that for another time. The spam control function appears to be removed from the admin space on the blog. But it's really annoying.

              The issue with the speed of the comments posting has been resolved by the tech team, but as were not able to provide us with the link to the blog post we are not sure whether the fix has affected your network or not, could you please check it on your side and lets us know if there is something wrong.

              I have informed QA department that the issue is floating one and could be reproduced on any blog post, thanks. What sort of the spam flagging issue do you have? If you would provide me with the screenshot I guess it would help us to be on the same page :-) I actually don't recall any recent changes made to the features related to teh spam prevention.

              • Kyryl, here is just one of many samples of the spam thing. And it's always the same types of posts. (( childrenofgaia.ning.com )) ~ All I can ask is "really, Ning?" - it's laughable, but it's driving us crazy. - and you can see from the date of the first one, this issue as been rampant in the blog for a week.

                  The QA department has tested your network and they haven't been able to reproduce the issue with the error message that you are getting when you are posting the reply to the discussion, and they are requesting the link where the issue could be reproduced. I do remember that you have mentioned that your blog posts are migrating from one place to another but could you please provide the link to the current location? 

                  Regarding the spam, messages are getting marked as spam if there were several same or almost same messages posted one by one in the short period of time, however, it should learn a bit each time you are marking some messages as not spam.

              • I reported Spam flagging issues too to support, so it is not isolated event.

                Also, when is the old simple chat going to be made available again on Ning 3, like was promised? Would be great :)

                  The option to switch back to the old chat version hasn't been finished yet, unfortunately, the team responsible for this have had to focus on other tasks, basically on bug fixing. When it would be finished they would be able to continue working on old chat option.
