Changing Your Chat Bar Colours

I noticed that some creators have mentioned about changing the colours of the new chat bars from gray and black so here is how you can do that using some css

Here is the css you need and you just replace the background colours to what you want, color is the text colour in case you want to change that also.

/*Chat Bar from gray to whatever colour you add*/
.xg_chat .xg_bottomBar {
    color: white;

/* Top Bar When Open From Black to whatever colour you add*/
.xg_theme-ningbar-bc {
    background-color: #8c4d4d;
/* Chat Page Bar */
.xg_chat.chatModule .xg_chatWindow .xg_messageListHeading {
background-color: #8c4d4d;

    • Alex do you transparency on the bars or the whole chat box's ?

  • While on the subject of the chat I found the Direct Messages part which just had search in it a little confusing and that seems to inicate you enter something to search in the chat messages not for searching for the member you want to direct message. So I just went into the language editor and adding the word members after search as now it makes it much clearer what you are searching for.

    • Hey John,

      I went to language editor tonight and I found only one "Search" word by itself. So I added member to it...but it didn't work. Is there something I need to be doing in language editor otherwise? And I did save it before checking chat box. :)

      • Hi Jennifer,

        After you have changed the text in language editor, please save the changes, open the main page and your changes should appear. Also, it's possible that previous version of your text has been saved in cache so you can try to perform a hard refresh or clear cache and cookies files.

        Best regards,

        Ning Team.
