Hi.
Any tips on how to make my website secure? Don't remember if it was possible for my type of network (custom domain). Please advise. Thanks.

Hi there!
As I see the certificate has been issued already and your site should be shown as the safe one for all members no matter which browser they are using.
Best regards,
Ning Team.
Ok, got there in the end, thanks.
I purchased my domain kpopway.com at Goddady. I have the option to purchase an SSL certificate with them or use the free one with Ning.
What should be the difference? If I purchase the SSL certificate from Godaddy, they will send to me within 5 minutes and then I can upload here at Ning. If I activate SSL for my website, will it work automatically? What will happen to visitors accesing my site using http? Will they be redirected to https version of my site?
And if I activate SSL without purchasing Godaddy certificate, what will happen during the next 24 hours? Will my visitors receive a message that my site is unsafe? Will I need to do something else? Please advise, because I don't want to loose traffic to my site. Thanks!
Hi there!
Sorry, I don't know the exact difference between the certificates provided by GoDaddy and let's encrypt, maybe the key size is different. Yep, if you upload the certificate to your network together with key and the full chain everything you will need to do is to activate SSL, by clicking the tick box "Yes" which I have mentioned previously. After the SSL encryption has been activated the users would be redirected to the https version of the site, with the 301 redirect so the SEO of the site shouldn't be affected.
When you will be waiting for the activation of the free certificate your users will see the message that your site is unsafe since they would be redirected to the https version of the site. And nope nothing else is needed, except the steps I have mentioned in the previous reply.

Ning Team.
Hi Kyryl. Thanks for your answer. Now, I have purchased an SSL certificate from Godaddy. The next step required is to generate a CSR (certificate signing request). Godaddy needs to know the type of certificate I am requesting and the operating system/control panel. Attached is an image of what they ask for:
Any clue on this? Thanks in advance!
Is it Nginx and my operating system (i.e Windows)?
Hi there!
You can pick Apache, regarding the CSR and the key. You can generate them by yourself any CSR generator you can find on the internet, for example, this one can be used https://csrgenerator.com/.
NOTE: Please save the key as well, as it would be needed to upload the key file on our servers.
If you have some questions don't hesitate to contact us.

Thanks Kyryl.
You are welcome :-)
Hi. I have uploaded certificate and key, and activated SSL on my network. But it failed to show my site as safe. I waited for more than 5 minutes, but nothing. So, how much time do I need to wait? Thanks!
