Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

I have more than 1000 articles on my network http://kkartlab.in/ . Whenever I try to find something using 'search' option, I am unable to find it. Either I am being directed to something else  that doesn't have any relation to what I am searching for or I am getting this message

Our apologies - we couldn't find any discussions matching your search.

Suggestions:

  • Make sure all words are spelled correctly
  • Try different or more general keywords

Even if I made sure all words are spelled correctly and used correct key words and typed exactly the title of my discussions and even when the discussion exist, still I am getting the same message over and over again.

I am fed up  as I will have to waste lots of my time daily searching for the things I want  manually.

What is the solution Ning? Why is this happening?

Can't you improve the search option?

                    • Hi there!

                      Thanks for specifying. Just checked the search in that group and the group you have mentioned has appeared in the search as expected. It was first on the list and was presented by the first words of discussion itself "Sometime back a rationalist was killed in Maharashtra (Indian State) for educating p…".
                      So it seems that the last search fix that has been applied to all networks has affected your network as well.

                      Probably when you have tried to add the reply the system hasn't loaded the full code of the site and that's why you have had the issue posting the comment, as usual in such cases simple reload of the page should help.

                      Apologies for any inconveniences.

                      Best regards,

                      Ning Team.

                    • What does that mean? We are encountering problems.

                      Yesterday when I searched I couldn't find the article...

                      "Lab Scientists vs Internet Scientists"

                      but today I could.

                      Okay, let me wait and check for some more days.

                    • Hi there!

                      We do apologize for any inconveniences, but I have just checked the search and it seems taht it's working properly on the main page but when I have tried to perfomr the search on the forum page there were no results returned. as teh result I have reported this issue to the tech team for the further investigations and meanwhile, I could suggest you to use the search through all network as it appears to be working properly.

                      Best wishes,

                      Ning Team.

                    • Thanks!

  • And again I got this message today:

    We couldn't find anything that matches "Lab Scientists vs Internet Scientists". Why not search for something else?

  • I have this code on our main page as a search function that works well:

    <form target="_new" action="http://www.google.com/search" accept-charset="UNKNOWN" method="enctype=&quot;application/x-www-form-urlencoded&quot;">
    <table border="0" cellpadding="0">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td><input maxlength="175" name="q" size="30" type="text" ></input><br />
    <input style="width: 210px; height: 24px;" size="16" value="your site name here.com Search" type="submit" ></input></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td style="font-size: 75%;" align="left">&#160; <input checked="checked" name="sitesearch" value="your site name here.com" type="checkbox" ></input> only search your site name here.com</td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
    </form>

    • Thanks but this looks like google search.

      • 2 points:

        1) it works

        3239698?profile=original

        2) if it works does it matter if its Google if it's from Mars?
