Since I released an infinite scroller for the new N3 Latest Activity feed, I have heard from a few sites where it does not work. It does not work on these sites because the MORE button itself does not work on these sites. If you click the More button on one of these sites, all that happens is that your browser takes you to the top of the current page.
Why does this happen?
TypeError: x$(...).autosize is not a function
This tells me that there is a problem with the autosize function. Where is this autosize function's code coming from? This code is in a file called set_mainindeinde_u_min.js which is automatically loaded by Ning as your site is loading. You can not remove it yourself.
How can I check to see if I am getting this error on my site?
You can see this error in the error console. The best error console, in my opinion, is in FireBug which is a plug in for FireFox. This is a great tool to have, and in my opinion, ALL NCs should have this installed on their FF browser. Others have talked about FireBug in this forum in the past. Many recognize its utility. You can get it here: http://getfirebug.com/
You may also be able to see it in the regular FF console or the Chrome or IE console. You will find them all by pressing F12 when you are in your browser.
Is YOUR MORE Button broken?
If so, please check for this error, and please reply here if you find it. If Ning doesn't know already, this could be the source of the problem. I imagine they do, but I am personally interested in seeing if everyone who has a broken More button is also showing this error in their console. The only way to see if there is a direct correlation between the broken More button and this error is to collect more data and see if everyone with a broken More button also has this error.
Again, I encourage everyone to learn how to use their browser's console or the more advanced FireBug version. If you are able to use this, then you can provide more detain to Ning or helpers on this forum when a problem arises on your site.
Thanks and Best Wishes!
