Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

This code will add a graphical interface to each page load. I wrote this code to close the graphical interface as soon as the page fully loads. So if your page takes one second to load it only shows for one second,  but if your page takes 10 seconds to load, It will show it for 10 seconds and so on. I've also added a 20 second failsafe closing code so if anything locks up on your network or someone has really slow Internet it will close whether the pages fully loaded or not.

If you'd like to create your own custom loader just replace the loader image link in the code below with your custom loader image link then place the code in your design studio CSS section. You can also use this snippet of code to customize the loader for individual pages. That way you'll have a different graphical loading interface for each individual page. For individual pages this code goes in your "Below Header HTML box"

/* START GEOCOMs loader "Customizer" */
/* design studio CSS section */
BODY:after{
background-color:black!important;
background-image: url("https://api.ning.com/your-link.gif")!important;
background-position: center;
background-repeat:no-repeat;}
@media screen and (max-width:560px)  {
body:after{
background-size: contain!important;} }

      • Hi George

        great to see you , hope your still well , we have been flooded so been busy , Yes please can you add it to my 2.0 as well

        Thank you , your a star as always :D

        • No problem Mary, give me an hour or two and it will be installed. :-) By the way I updated your chat on your 3.0 network, you are now using version 6.4, no more load delay and it's more compatible with older cell phones. :-)

          Great to see you again as well, you have a wonderful day.

          • Thank you so very very much

            you are a star as always :)

            • Okay Mary both networks are done. :-)

              If you find your pages are too slow to use this on your 2.0 you can disable it by going to your Dashboard features and layouts and uncheck  the Above header add box. See image below.

              • Hi George

                Your a star as always  thank you

                • Thank you, Mary :-)
                  I temporarily removed it from your 2.0 network because Ning is making some changes to the 2.0 networks. Once they have finished, I will add it back..

                  • What "changes" are they making to 2.0?

                    • I'm not sure exactly what they're doing. I just know I can't even use my 2.0 foot chat code on 3.0 anymore. It slowed down the whole network . I spent four hours yesterday on a 3.0 network chasing that bug down. There are quite a few other 2.0 networks that are running really slow right now. There's a couple stylesheets that loads with their chat that are really slowing down the networks.

                      Sweet potato mentioned yesterday that he believed they were making some changes on the back and of the 2.0 networks. I don't know much more than that.

  • Awesome, yet again you give us another awesome, useful, really cool code :)

    I reckon you should buy Ning George aha, We'd actually get the updates we're asking for then :P

    • lol Thank you Luke, I definitely needed to laugh today. :-) lol
