Hi all,
Just a quick note to let you know that we've added new options for displaying content based on Latest Activity. You can now select to show Photos, Groups, Forums or Blog posts that have been commented on most recently. This is an easy way to let members know what's new since their last visit. Just head to Site & Pages, select one of your custom pages or another page that contains multiple types of content, and in the From dropdown on the Content Settings panel, choose "Latest Activity".

Hi Phil,
Any news on when the auctiviy feed will have a More button?
Thanks
On Ning 3 the ''Latest Activity'' does not publicly display to non-members any of the activity taking place in Groups. So, if Groups are the place where most activity takes place very little shows up on the ''Latest Activity'' display for passing browsers.
Is this because I have something wrong with my settings? I have checked and re3checked but may be over-looking something obvious....
Or, is this the way it is, and if so, why?
Best Wishes,
Anam
Great! Thanks for the update
great but got 2 other requests
i realize #2 is not planned and mat not be implimented for awhile but $1 seems like an oversighgt that should have been there already
Great!
This is another very necessary step towards effective content navigation in Ning social networks.
Today I received an announcement from the very well-resourced company Thomson Reuters. This company manages huge databases of scientific literature and is in effect building social networks (for scientists) around an existing and ever-growing core of content.
Search functions have been critical from the very start of the online presence of the databases managed by this company.
For small social networks that can only build their content slowly, from nothing, effective search functions may not seem an obvious necessity at the beginning.
Most of our Ning networks are slow to grow, but the need for advanced search functions will grow exponentially as a network grows in membership and as network content expands.
The following text is extracted from the announcement by Thomson Reuters (Jan 13th, 2014).
Perhaps Ning will be able to make a similar announcement, in the not too distant future?!
"The new Web of Science delivers a user-centric redesign to provide a simplified, intuitive search with clearer results through a single interface. These enhancements make it:
Enhancements that you will notice include:
An online WoS training tutorial for the new search system can be seen here. The video is a spectacular display of what can be achieved when an in-house search system is fully developed:

This pertains only to Ning 3.0, right?
Great feature, thanks!!!
It would be great to have a Profile Completness % Bar just like Linked iN, Facebook and many other networks push users to complete information on their profiles. Increases engagement, adds more value to the network by having full information and its something cool to display on the page as well.
Just a thought.
Hi John,
Once you've created a page you can't change the type of content in it. That's because different content types have different database shapes, and moving from one to the other is not simple and isn't something we can provide on the fly.
Thanks,
Phil
That is why I see nothing. But I kept my mouth shout out since I had another more pressing problem with indexing.
Same here love the release though.
