I have created MULTIPLE NING networks and / or silently created them FBO other people, about 40 in all over the last year. my most popular would be indychristianmedia.com and catalistjobs.com as well as ciboindy.ning.com and onetorch.ning.com. I have a Financial Services business but NING allows me to help others communicate and as the creator I have access to data that I can use for target marketing or traffic driving for services and businesses that I actually make money at.
