Twenty two years teaching experience in a variety of classroom environments instructing an ethnically diverse population of children, ages four through sixteen. My latest project is a social health unit that focuses on healthy relationships: http://my-ecoach.com/project.php?id=16138 Specialize in designing and implementing unique programs to overcome learning difficulties by building strategies in reading, writing, and study skills. Develop and present teacher-training workshops in a comprehensive balanced literacy approach followed by the integration of technology into the language arts, science and social studies curriculums. Hold extensive knowledge of literacy-based instructional strategies and scientifically-based reading research practices, including Comprehension Assessment of Reading Strategies and Power Writing. All my students pass the New York State English Language Arts test and learn lifetime writing skills in the process. Familiarity with and frequent usage of educational computer software, teacher and student productivity tools, multimedia presentation and graphics programs, and the latest integration these tools with multi-disciplinary learning activities.
