WHO IS CPU? A group of Brothers / Sisters which monitor police activity while police engaging with the public through questioning, detainment, or arrest. Copwatch Patrol Unit (CPU) Volunteers spend time walking the streets of Ct, observing police and witnessing and documenting by video or photo police interactions with citizens on camera. May it be by VIDEO, PHOTO, AUDIO, AND OR PAPER; CPU concentrates in areas where there is high police activity, such as IMPACT ZONES. CPU also advise people of their rights. CPU goals are to discourage an attempt to stop police brutality and harassment by: 1. Educating the public and communities on there rights and their responsibilities to each other. 2. Mobilizing communities to take back their lives from their militarized police department. 3. Letting the police know that their actions are being observed and recorded and that they will be held accountable for their actions. 4. Trying to get laws and regulations in place and enforced, that will reduce police brutality and repression. UNLIKE THE WATERBURY CT. POLICE DEPARTMENT AND ALL POLICE DEPARTMENTS IN CONNECTICUT! WE FOLLOW THROUGH WITH OUR MISSION STATEMENT AND MOTTO! The mission of C.P.U COPWATCH PATROL UNIT of CONNECTICUT is to deliver the highest quality COPWATCHING service, based upon the needs of diverse communities, in order to PROTECT the SAFETY, SECURITY, RIGHTS, and FREEDOMS of ALL individuals. OUR MOTTO IS! The motto “To PROTECT, EDUCATE, and SERVE” states the essential purpose of the C.P.U COPWATCH PATROL UNIT of CONNECTICUT. Who serves the people of the City of Waterbury by performing the VIDEO and PHOTOfunction in a professional manner. The C.P.U COPWATCH PATROL UNIT of CONNECTICUT protects the rights of all persons within its jurisdiction; to be FREE from CRIMINAL ATTACK BRUTALITY AND MISCONDUCT FROM ALL POLICE OFFICERS, to be SECURE in their POSSESSIONS, and to live in peace. IT IS TO THE PEOPLE that the C.P.U COPWATCH PATROL UNIT of CONNECTICUT is ultimately responsible. AND NO! WE DID NOT STEEL PART OF THE WATERBURY CT POLICE DEPARTMENTS MISSION STATEMENT AND MOTTO!
