Almost 10 years ago, I work with a group of friend on the design of what was known as "online comunity". Today that concept as evolve to be the "Social networks¨. Recently, doing a search on the WEB, ning appears as my option to create a site for teachers and parents of my childrens school. Right now the site have the name of TCA Teachers and Parents Network. Ning.com was selected because it offers the level of management to keep the disscussion private for the group members. Some issues that we as parents try to avoid it´s that the site must be as far as it can from the disscussion of the known socials network.
