The Ning Advocacy team has followed some of your networks for months and some even years now. Though we periodically hear from you and keep an eye on Creators, we'd like to reach out and ask: "Hey, how's it going?"
As we get closer to the end of the year, it's a great time to look back. We'd love to know:
What have you accomplished this year with your Ning Network?
This is your time to brag about and share the achievements that you've had both online and offline this year.
- Did you pass a milestone this year? Did your network reach its 100th, 1,000th, or 10,000th member?
- If you're using your community to gather people offline, were you able to successfully gather up members to attend a live event? Reply with a picture and let us know how it went!
- After spending countless hours on Creators, is your network now rocking some design changes thanks to snippets of CSS from your friends here?
Sometimes achievements come in the form of a lesson learned, so if there is anything that you have tried that just didn't quite work out, let us know! I'm sure there are some new Network Creators that would love the advice!

8000+ members -- 1000's of page views, amazing content added daily to ArtFairInsiders.com daily that is helpful to the members...
But the coolest thing that happened in the community this year was when a discussion, "Minnesota Art Shows - Beware", got members working together to capture a woman who was passing bad checks at the shows. She was apprehended as they worked together on AFI to share information to catch the thief! Police came in and swooped in on the offender.
I love this story, Connie. Power to the artists!
Thanks, Allison. I was amazed with how this played out. Quite a drama and proof that the Internet and social media does make things happen.

For My Modern Metropolis, 2012 was a year of consistency. After years of robust growth and spiky waves of traffic, we have reached healthy levels of consistent traffic in a very dynamic online ecosystem. Since our start in May of 2008, my partner Alice and I have managed to make our website our full time jobs. After hiring a handful of interns over the past two years, we found two incredible writers that we are blessed to now have on our staff. A couple milestones that we just reached are 100k followers on Facebook and 1.9 million followers on Pinterest.
Although we've reached a level where we are very happy to be at, our team is still hungry to push our limits even further. Our newest venture last year is the launch of our online shop, called My Modern Shop, where we sell art prints and canvas, which correlates directly with our main site.
I just wanted to say that after reading many of your entries I was really inspired and impressed with your ventures. Some of you are helping humanity and changing the world. Pretty mind-blowing stuff.
Lastly, both Alice and I want to say thanks to Ning for being a stable and supportive platform. Without your foundation, what we have accomplished wouldn't have been possible. Special thanks to John McDonald, Phil McCluskey, Aaron Ilika, Eric Suesz, Samir Arora, and our always reliable Ning-programmer Jen Marco. Alice and I wish everyone a wonderful 2013.
