I'm a software engineer. I created a Ning network for anyone interested in real estate in Charlotte, NC http://charlotteren.ning.com. With the collapse of the real estate market, and the amount of competition from other real estate themed networking sites, not to mention Facebook, it's been tough to generate much interest in my network, but I'm still hanging on and looking for ways to steer people to my network.
