A Message from Our CEO

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every Network Creator for your continued support!  On behalf of the entire Ning Interactive team, I can tell you that we’re motivated and inspired by the communities you’ve created and are dedicated to helping you and your networks succeed.

The past few years have been challenging, both to our employees and more so to you, our Network Creators, but I can confirm that’s all in the past now.  We’re committed to developing our people, strengthening our platform, and reopening the lines of communication while rebuilding our own community here on Creators.  We’re excited for the future and the opportunity to work with you, and we hope to exceed your expectations.

Since taking ownership of Ning Interactive Inc. on October 1, 2016, we have focused on stabilizing our environment and fixing old, outstanding bugs.  We canceled the rate increase that was scheduled to go into effect October 1st of last year and increased our billing and technical support hours to be 24/7.  We’re investing capital in infrastructure and human resources, all to ensure the success of our customers, platform, and scalability.

As we start a new year, we’re shifting our focus to features, functionality, and customer transparency.  Below is a list of some (but by no means all) of our Ning 3.0, Q1 objectives for 2017:

  • Add Features: Events, Search, Chat, and Paid Access
  • Restart 2.0 to 3.0 migrations
  • Establish a new NC Council to participate in the creation of a new Product Roadmap
  • Successful implementation of at least two customer-driven features
  • Weekly status updates here on Creators

As CEO, I want to hear directly from you how we’re doing in the following areas:

  • Customer Support:  Are we doing better or worse? What aren’t we doing that you would like to see?
  • Transparency & Communication:  Are we communicating as much as you’d like?  What else would you like to hear from us?
  • Existing Features & Functionality:  Issues you’ve encountered using them, how they can be improved, etc.
  • Ning Network Design Tools:  What tools can be improved? What additional tools are needed?

If there is anything that we can do to improve our service to you, I will listen.  Send your feedback to CEOtalk@ning.com, and please be sure and include your network’s URL in your message.   I look forward to hearing from you!

Our developers also want to hear your perspective on which features and functionalities you find useful or would like to see in the future.  We'll monitor your feedback for future consideration, using it to fine tune improvements to existing features and new features added to the Product Roadmap.  In some cases, we may respond directly for further clarification.  Message DeveloperTalk@ning.com, including your network’s URL, to share your insights with the team.

In closing, we have much work ahead of us, not the least of which includes earning back your trust. However, with a new team and renewed focus, coupled with your restored trust and partnership, we’re energized to make 2017 our best year yet!

    • Hello!

Please accept my apologies for the ongoing issue with contact importer! However, we were able to find a workaround. Our representative has already sent you an email explaining how to import contacts from your yahoo list to the site.

Unfortunately, our company's inner policy does not allow us to disclose our CEOs identity or contact information. However, we are checking CEOtalk@ning.com email box and we have received a copy of the message you have left here. Also, our COOs email address is available for communication.

Please accept our apologies for the inconveniences once again.

      Best regards,

      The NING Team

      • YOUR WORK AROUND KEEPS COMING UP WITH ERROR MESSAGES! I'M ABOUT TO RESPOND TO YOUR WORK AROUND EMAIL NOW!

      • I mistakenly deleted my post about Ning's CEO having to disclosed and open to us. I'll redo it later unless someone can send it to me at editor@autographmagazine.com

        Thanks

        • Thanks, Suki for sending my reply.

I posted this as a new blog directed to the CEO, but it hasn't been approved yet:

          Anastasia,

I am a HUGE supporter of Ning. You folks try really hard and it shows. I hope to
be with you forever. But if your CEO won't disclose his identity and other
details of the company, then I will have to leave, which the last thing I want
          to do.

You have all of our member information. Their emails could end up who knows
where, and there IP addresses could be traced. The confidential member-to-member
communications revealed. I am responsible for the safey and wellbeing of my
members, and unless this is rectified, right away, will have to advise them of
          the situation.

I know things are different in Russia than in the western world. But if you want
to succeed worldwide—which you desreve to do, because you have the hardest
working staff I know of and platform I love, even with the bugs and slowish
development—you're going to have to be open about the company.

Please, let's get this handled now.

          Thanks,
          Steve

          • Hi Steve!

I approved your blog post, thank you!

            Best regards,

            The NING Team

      • "Unfortunately, our company's inner policy does not allow us to disclose our CEOs identity or contact information."

I don't think Ning customers expect to have a CEO's personal address or contact info. It's a bit odd to refuse to reveal who the company's CEO is. That is just public information once the company name is known, is it not?  Is it an actual business entity?
But I think customers who are paying substantial amounts of money every month DO have every right to know the identity of the company that owns Ning now, and it's location. It's not a drug laundering operation, after all!

        • SUKI, I THEROUGHLY AGREE! I AM DEVELOPING A WEB SITE OF MY OWN!

        • THAT'S A BUNCH OF B.S.!!! YOUR CEO IS HIDING BECAUSE HIS COMPANY IS FALLING APART! LEAVING US FOR MONTHS, WITHOUT FEATURES WE HAVE HAD FOR YEARS! IN MY CASE ABOUT 20 YEARS!

WHAT A SHAME! WHOEVER THIS PERSON IS HE HAS MADE SOME HORRIBLE DECISIONS! IT WOULD BE ADVISIBLE THAT YOU NEVER GO PUBLIC WITHI THE STOCK EXCHANGE! YOUR INVESTORS WOULD SHUT YOU DOWN IN A HEART BEAT!

P.S., THE RATINGS ON THE BBB IS "D"!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS LOW RATING WITH ANY COMPANY BEFORE!

  • Is there a way to make Comment Walls on Member's pages be ''threaded'' as opposed to simple, so that people can reply directly to comments rather than just comment at top?

    • Hi there!

Unfortunately, there is no way to do so for the comment wall which is related to one member's page only. As I suppose it was done that way because the comments on teh comment wall are related to one person, member who owns the profile page. However as you need such option I guess they were wrong, and I post the suggestion to add the ability to switch between comment types for the comment wall on the member's profile page.

      Best wishes,

      Ning team.
