As we approach the end of 2013, we wanted to give you an update on the status of the work we've been doing over the last few weeks to migrate networks from Ning 2.0 to Ning 3.0.
Since our last update, the engineering team working behind the scenes on the migration process has made serious advances. We currently support migrating the following elements of 2.0 networks, with more to come as we continue to make progress:

Since we want to optimize this process as much as possible to make it easy on Network Creators and their members, we've also focused quite a bit recently on performance. In recent releases, we've succeeded in reducing the time required to migrate networks and their content dramatically in the last few weeks—content is now migrating ten to twenty times faster than when we began this process. This is a massive improvement that will allow the migration process to proceed much more smoothly for you and your members.
We are nearly ready to begin migrating small networks, and will be reaching out to eager members of the Sandbox Group in the coming weeks to help us beta the migration process in a live setting. Once the beta is complete, we'll open it up to the rest of the Sandbox here on Creators in early 2014, and later on to all 2.0 networks as part of phase one of the migration process.
We know that some of you are concerned about the "deadline" for migrating to Ning 3.0—this is something we're reviewing, and we'll post an update about this soon in a separate thread.

How do you get on the list to migrate ASAP? I'm under a pretty tight deadline from my CEO and would like to know how soon we can 'hit the button'
Hey there,
We're tracking this internally right now and reaching out to early adopters manually. I'll add you to the list!
I'll go ahead and close this discussion since my colleague Monica has posted a fresh update here.
Thanks for your work
We're ready to get up and running.
As soon as we can do it we're ready!
There was one 2 days ago..........per Aaron "working with a few early adopters now, and we're nearly ready to open up the process a bit more to Sandboxers. We'll post an update soon."
(these early adopters are testing for glitches....so you don't have to)

I received an email maybe little more than an hour ago. The process has begun. =)
Hi Patrick,
Sure hope I am on some list to migrate- asap! I seriously need my (new) domain name-- and access to my new Groups features on my 3.0. I don't care if some of my content does not migrate- I much prefer my new 3.0!!! So long as I can do my own "weeding" and "plant" some of the other content where it goes!
I do have a question about how long we can access the 2.0 once 3.0 goes live?
I hear a rumor that I want to confirm with you.
Is Ning going to ask for the annual fee in full or will we still have the option of monthly payments.
An annual fee in full will hurt some and force us to close our doors. Please tell me this is a RUMOR.
Thanks
Hey Patricia,
This is definitely, completely false. Network Creators will continue to have the ability to pay in either a yearly amount or monthly payments.
We definitely don't want a false rumor like this spreading. Feel free to point me toward anything that's giving you that impression so that I can correct it (if something we've put out is misleading) or clarify (if it's a false impression someone else is under).
Thanks I will
I heard this from a fellow Ning site owner. I think she may have misunderstood about the "sandbox" and all but she was freaking out and then it freaked me out so I now know it is a false rumor and I have already let her know.
Thanks, we are breathing easier now :) Whew!
Yep, total lie. They have confirmed they will continue to offer monthly or yearly.
