I was trying to find an alternative to the Original Music Player on Ning (Which I Still Have Access To) as far as artists, djs, producers with their music. I installed the Soundcloud App, which we know acts real weird on the front page, on the music tab is flawless.
After the help of Lee from Soundcloud and Ning Support they helped figure out the dropbox system, which will let people submit their music for approval to have on the player. Once I did that I took it a step further and used my music group that I would have artists post their new mixtape links in the comments and now have a nice banner which will lead them to upload music to the dropbox.
On my homepage slider it leads them to the group. Where Does The Engagement Come In? The Soundcloud Player Lets You Know How Many Plays A Song Has So I Use This As A Way For My Own Personal Thoughts As A Leaderboard. I only keep the Top 20 Tracks On The Player, and me being a radio host as well helps me let musicians have direct feedback. Since they will have to push people to listen to their music there, it helps them be more engaged and bring in potential new members. The songs being able to be downloaded and leading them away from using other music download sites will help as well.

Hi - I love the idea, but I can't figure out the steps you did to set this up.
I'm kind of new to both soundcloud and drop box. Can you give a bit more details like 1,2,3 steps for newbies like me?

I like the idea of embedding the dropbox only in the musicians group:) I may do that next:)
