Good news - it`s time to announce the release of the Chat Feature on Ning 3.0 platform.

Today we are happy to provide you with the opportunity to chat with other members of your Ning Network in the most convenient and efficient way. To facilitate your community management experience, we have added several new options:

  • New design
  • Customizable notifications

  • Does anyone know how hot clean the chat messages o delete some content ?

    thank you.

    • Hello!

Unfortunately, there is no way to clear the chat history or certain content. At some point, once the chat history is full, old messages will be removed automatically.

      Best regards,

      The NING Team

  • Only had to refresh once this week.  It took two months........but something has improved.  Thank you

    • Hi Kos,

We are glad to know that the chat has started to work better on your network, and thanks for your outstanding patience.

Please keep us informed if there would be any issues with the chat.

      Best wishes,

      Ning Team.

      • Kyryl yes it has improved.  Only two refeshes yesterday which is still a concern but it's definitely improved from 20+ per day before.  I reported an issue yesterday with screenshot on 2.0 of chat not connecting to internet on the support page.  They couldn't re-create it but I did a hard refresh on both browsers (FF/GOOG) and the result was the same. Sent screenshot any they passed it onto the developer for research.  You may hear of that complaint too.  Just letting you know it's out there.

        • Hi there!

Thanks for letting me know and yes I have seen that report. Also, I have just checked and the LiveChat should work fine, at least it's doing so for me. Could you please let me know if it still asking you check your internet connection?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

And many thanks for the screenshot you have sent in the ticket.

          Best wishes,

          Ning Team.

          • Kyryl It's working today.  Cool!  Glad they got that wrapped up.  Thanks

  • I have a question that I do not think has been asked yet (forgive me, if it's in the thread -- or elsewhere -- and I've missed it).

I have set up a test member profile (non-admin) for our site.  [still in progress, working on it daily, sevenh.ning.com]

My admin name is Holly D [of course, in admin view, I see 'Me' and the correct profile image]

When I view the chat from this test member profile page, it shows my 'chat' name as Smilin7 and a generic blue head/profile.

    3239924?profile=RESIZE_320x320

    3239948?profile=RESIZE_320x320

in the test member view, when I post a message, I see:

    3239972?profile=RESIZE_320x320

and when test member posts, I see:

    3239992?profile=RESIZE_320x320

Why is the 'blue head/profile' and 'Smilin7' showing?

Can anyone explain this to me?  Is it some silly thing I am not thinking of?  Where would I go to fix it?

It will be very confusing to members if all of the admin's chat messages appear without a photo and with a blue head.  Help?

    Thanks in advance,

    Holly

    • Hi there!

Sorry, it seems that I have forgotten to press the button "Comment" after I have typed the reply.

I have created the report and passed it to the tech team for the verification and further fixing.

Once they would tell me that the issue is fixed I'll notify you here on creators or via email.

      Apologies for any inconveniences.

      Best regards,

      Ning Team.

    • Holly I don't see Ning commenting here so I'll jump in.

We have to continually refresh, sometimes several times in one minute which Ning says they'll work on........and waiting.......and waiting....... so I've just given up waiting.  My aggravation is through the ceiling.

My guess is your problem is another glitch.  See if it occurs on different browsers and file a ticket.  Tell them  what browsers it's occurring on.......and if the browsers are up to date.

They always throw those suggestions out there so you may as well get them out of the way up front.  Good luck
