  • Yes, mine too. I wrote to Ning Support and they said that they are aware of the issue and that a technical team is working to fix it.

Hopefully it will work again soon

  • Hello!

Unfortunately, a lot of network creators have already reported the same issue, so it is our number one priority at the moment. I believe our Tech Team is really close to the solution at this very moment, so I hope the fix will be delivered soon.

I apologize a lot for the inconveniences.

    Best regards,

    The NING Team

    • Our Activity Feed is now working fairly ok, thanks. There's still a funny box at the top of it, however, that appears to be inviting you to write something with the question 'What are you up to?', but it neither lets you write anything nor lets you delete it. Other people have also got this box.

Left over since the previous problem with Activity Feed was sorted out - the images appear extremely large. In other words, this was a new mini-problem that appeared when the major problem was sorted out! The images do take up a lot of room in the column.

      • Hello!

It is good to hear that your activity feed is now working ok! In order to remove a status update bar just open an Activity module settings in the Site&Pages tab and uncheck the following option - http://take.ms/IXuyb

Regarding the enlarged photos in the activity - all the preview pictures now will be automatically adjusted depending on the activity feed`s column width, so this one won't be changed, unfortunately. I can recommend you to change the display settings and select "Titles only" here - http://take.ms/Le6U1 However in this case there will be no preview pictures in the feed at all.

        Bets regards,

        The NING Team

        • Thank you, I have changed the Activity module setting successfully (though why this had suddenly appeared is not clear).

On the question of the enlarged photos in the activity feed, we definitely do want photos there, but not these huge ones!  The appearance of this problem coincided with the sorting out of the previous problem with the activity feed.

          See the problem here:

          https://alexandraparkneighbours.org.uk/

Has anyone else got this problem?

        • I understand from Support that the inability to auto-resize images in the Activity Feed is due to:

"the maintenance of the Activity Feed and storage improvements"   !

Is that not completely mad, that work on the Activity Feed that has been taking months, and caused serious problems during those months, should, when finished, result in new errors appearing, and no apparent improvements (not that I was aware that improvements were needed) ?!

We want the existing system to function adequately, rather than new add-ons.

    • What a simple solution - thank you so much!  Works a treat. I changed it to 70% - in case anyone else has the same problem (Ning Support said quite a few people had complained about it).
