Using the landing page as a home page?

Hi everyone,

Has anybody used a landing page as a home page? 

I am trying that now on https://lediabete.ning.com

I want to use small carousel photos in the "business" template as links to indivicual groups - instead of accessing them via a navigation bar.

Ideally I will have dropdown menus (like on the landing page) on individual pages instead of full navigation bar

Not sure if this method has any technical drawbacks.

So far I haven't noticed any networks with landing page set up as a home page, but I think your idea is totally achievable. You can link your groups via these buttons - http://take.ms/XIvPU and add links in the drop-down menu the same way.
