That's impressive! Didn't think you could modify the signup page. Please share some info!
This is a "custom" page set up from the add page in sites and pages. I copied the entire code for the standard authorization page. I did that by using Firefox Firebug. Opening up in the left pane and then copying it all. That might be easier than trying to catch all the changes especially in the "href" area. However, I'll add that code to this response in a text file upload so you have an idea what it looks like....
That's a YouTube video in the left column and I have since added a simple slider as well. I've got it here as a test page you can take a look at. It functions well but I'm having trouble redirecting the address from the 'official' signup page. It could be used as a 'splash page' like you're using the wix.com page, Maxx. ...or you could put a welcome box at upper right like we have in 2.0 with direct links to the 'custom' page. If people click on the ning bar signup/sign in then they will go directly to the default pages. I've still got to clear the link to home page from the header but I've blocked some other links at the bottom. You'll see that I have Addthis 'recommended' links showing at the bottom and I've tried to block those but haven't hit the right code, yet. In the text file you'll need to change out all the urls, but it's a start for something you want to see.
Maxx, I'm using wix.com a different way. I'm using it as a media portal. Take a look at Envision Asia Media on my nav bar at Envision Asia. Ning 3.0 beta is coming up short so far on photos and videos. Wix has a number of highly functional media choices. I'm thinking of using the free version this way until/if 3.0 comes through.
Getting late here in Thailand so I'm heading to bed-nearly midnight. I be back about 8 (in the evening for you-morning for me) if any of you have any questions/comments.
