  • Hi there!

There are several issues here, one of them is connected with the billing the other one, which is basically brought your sites offline, with your domain registrar. I have checked both custom domain names with the help of this tool https://mxtoolbox.com and it appears that the domains don't have any published DNS settings, that is why the mapping is not working and your sites are offline. In such case please contact your registrar and check what is wrong. From our end, I have disabled the domain mapping for both your networks and you can access them by the native links http://anglingnetwork.ning.com and http://muskienetwork.ning.com, so when the issue will be resolved you can enable the domain mapping once again. Here is the link to the article that might be useful: https://www.ning.com/ning3help/use-your-own-domain/

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Ning Team.

  • Why on earth would you mess with my account without my permission? My websites have been up since July with the proper DNS settings. I have not messed with them. Please, undo what you have done as I might not have a chance to fix it for a week. Wtf?

    • HI there!

We do not have access to the DNS settings of your custom domains, as this access is granted on the side of the registrar and only the owner of the domain (in this case it's you) have the access to them, well the registrar has this access as well I guess. That's why I have written that you should contact the registrar as they are having some issues I guess.

Sorry, I thought you would prefer to have the access to the network instead of getting the error message, I do apologize for the misunderstanding.

      Best regards,

      Ning Team.

      • I don't need you to access my DNS settings as they are set up correctly. I need you to go to the domain mapping page and reenter my domain as I do not have access to a computer right now and it does not work on my phone. Smh
        • This is the issue there are no DNS settings set for the custom domains you have mentioned, that's why I have removed the domains from the domain mapping section. As there are no DNS settings set for the custom domains that's why you haven't been able to access the networks.

I have checked your domains with several tools, as an example, you can check the result by this link https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=mx%3awww.anglingnetwork... the error is "Sorry, we couldn't find any name servers for 'anglingnetwork.com'", the same is relevant for your second domain, so please contact the registrar of your domains.

          • What do I need to do to transfer my domains to Ning?
            • The DNS settings should be published, the A record should point to 208.82.16.68, and the CNAME should direct to yourdomain.ning.com (where yourdomain should be anglingnetwork or muskienetwork depends on the DNS of which domain you are modifying). Please note that it could take some time for teh DNS settings to be published.

Based on the error message I assume that server names have been removed from the settings but I'm not sure about this, that's why I may still recommend you to contact the registrar of your custom domains.

              Best wishes,

              Ning Team.

              • That is not what I asked. I would like Ning to host my domains... But, I need to transfer them to Ning from Hostgator...
                • Sorry, but we don't provide such services :-(
