Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

I have a ning network and it looks very nice and ive been on with this idea for a couple of years now and it worked on other providers but i always perfer ning so i moved here but im finding it hard to get new members onsite!

Ii have tryed to use a email spider and a bulk email sender but they have not worked.

I have used the ning sender and that does not work.

I have tryed submit to search engines and this does not work.

I cant seen to entice new members to the network and its so frustrating as alot of work has gone into it with some of the best social networking designers in the world helping me.

Do you have any ideas or can you give me help.

  • well, first, let me ask, is your network fully public accessible, as in not private or public/show only main page ? The reason I ask, because if it's fully public and you have some depth of content, you should first Submit your URL to Google. If it's not totally public, search engines will struggle to index your site, if they do at all...after that, do a search for Submit url to yahoo then bing then msn, aol, etc etc. After that, go to your dashboard/google webmaster and follow those instructions. After that check out this video tutorial about low cost Facebook advertising by Mark Flockhart, it's very well laid out, and from what I'm hearing, depending on your niche, facebook advertising is pretty darn successful. Some others out here may have more suggestions for you, hope it helps!

could you provide a link to your site? I'd like to look at the amount of content if you don't mind.....which reminds me, linkbacks from other sites to yours are loved by search engines.

  • Facebook has been the best place for me to find new members.

i simply join all the groups and fan pages related to my subject and then I send out friend requests.

I include a little note about my community.

Depending on your topic this has been very effective.

Just dont send too many friend requests per day. 25 or so will be good.
