everyone knows keywords are important  to traffic, finding the right keywords to bring in traffic is great but do you also have street cred? brand recognition? are you being talked about in schools and offices and even on the street?

brand recognition is important as well if your sites searched for by name and that brand name is 1 of your most popular search terms you got what it takes your brand is out there working for you

getting your members talking about your site is where it starts let them promote it for you

provide a quality service a great source of info and a strong sense of community and they will be out there telling freinds  offering your site to others everywhere they go

they will mention you often on facebook

and in youtube vids

they will walk up to people on the street and say hey you should check this out

and in no time you start see4ing your sites name or url or typos of either as very popular search terms

you might even start seeing your name as nc being searched for often as well

then you start seeing your sites name added to searches to relevent keywords  example dreadlockssite best dreadlocks shampoo then you know you are gaining a reputation as an authority on the subject and they specificly want the info to come from you and no other sources

how much brand recognition and authority does your site have? how many search for your site specifu[icly daily?

this is just 1 more measure of the success of your site but an important 1

  • NC for Hire
My name (not sweetpotato obviously) and brand are both often searched words that generate traffic. I have this chat with friends quite a bit: is it bad to have you, as an NC, as the thing that people know your site for? I've come to the conclusion that it's a good thing as I get quite a bit of work from people recognizing me as an 'expert' and hiring me for consultancy. I had one guy say to me the other day "but you're SITENAME, people will listen if it's on that", which made me feel pretty good. That said, I don't want the site to be about me, I want it to be about the members.
    • i agree on that completely i really didnt want to be the face behind the name but sortas happened and now i get ppl coming to me for advice 24/7

i dont 'get work" out of it cause my sites more about how to do things for free and without pro's screwing u up

even tho we are found by thousands of diferent key phrases more then 1/4 i think search for us by name and we are only 2 1/2 years old

so i take that as a measure of how much ppl talk about the site and recomend it to others

  • Thank you for reminding me once again about the importance of a brand name. Knew this all the while and trying to follow the same path.

  • it is very important but brand recognition is very hard thing to achieve!

Congratulations you have a lot of members on your site.

Can you please share the code that you use to keep page from scrolling?

    • ? what page doesnt scroll?

      • Your home page has a background but it static and when I scroll down the background does not move! Sorry about the confusion.

        • hmm my homepage doesnt have a background at all haha  but thats simple

          {background-attachment: fixed;}

but im wondering what backgroud you mean or are u liooking at a diferent page?
