Hello Creators,

When scheduling events on my calendar and sending these events out to non-network members, I would like to provide them with the ability to 'accept' the event and have it show up on their local Outlook calendar.

I know this is feasible with members using RSVPs by sending out the notification of the event and having the network members log back into the site and download the .ics file so that the event shows up on their local Outlook calendar(provided they have outlook).

What I am looking for is this same functionality for non-members.  So when the event is created, and the email notification is sent to the non members, I want them to be able to open their email and accept the event invite(maybe even download the .ics???) without being re-directed back to the site.

Is this possible?  Have any of you creators done this with your network?

  • Any ideas?

  • looking for this feature.

    • Hi there!

I'm not sure whether it's even possible to create something like this by updating the existing events feature. But, let's see what the management would say, as usual, they are asking the opinion of the developers regarding each improvement. Once I hear something regarding this suggestion I'll inform you.

But please keep in mind that it still would be necessary to leave some information before the person would be able to attend the event.

      Best wishes,

      Ning Team.

      • Basically, I would like the events to have ability for people to add them to their outlook calendar.

If they are login then they can also click on "Going" button to register.

        Thanks

        • Hi there!

Thanks for clarifying, I would have to change the suggestion I have created a bit so it would fit your request.

And the functionality you describe would be easier to make I guess, anyway the management hasn't made teh decision regarding it yet. I'll post an update on this post, and I guess it could be moved to the main thread from the archive.

          Best wishes,

          Ning Team.
